Jen Sachs (born in Baltimore, MD) has worked professionally in the motion graphics industry of Los Angeles for over six years. Her commercial graphics have screened on MTV, CMT, and in multiple theatrical releases.
Since 1998, Sachs has directed and animated several independently produced films which examine established images and themes to uncover hidden stories. Utilizing various styles and techniques, she exposes multiple layers of reality “as much through graphic allusions as empirical fact.” (Peter Bowen, Filmmaker Magazine).
Sachs’s films have been screened in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and U.S. festivals including Sundance, Telluride, and Ann Arbor. Her shorts have been broadcast on PBS and Cable (Moov HDTV), and programmed in international festivals in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Russia, Austria, Portugal, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Macedonia, and India.
